Guiding star ring

A simple bold guiding star, set in the old fashioned way, with a handheld graver and finely tuned muscles and eyes.

I have set this natural teal Australian sapphire in a diamond shape signet to represent the southern cross, a guiding star from way back.

I have hand set the sapphire and hand engraved the star using my graver (a hand held cutting tool which uses my strength and control only, so there is no machine involved.)

The top of the sterling silver signet ring measures 13mm from top point to bottom point and 10mm across. The signet is 3.5mm deep.

This ring is a size L 1/2 but I can make any size you like, just let me know in the comments box at the checkout.

I make many of these rings but they are all different as I engrave each one by eye.

I love engraving with a graver, the process, the simplicity, the skill and the result. You just can’t get that bright sparkle and hand crafted feel with laser cut or cast or roll printing techniques.
