Diamond & gold stacking leaf band

An art nouveau inspired ring with flowing leaves nestled into eachother. 

This solid 9ct yellow gold band in cast from a mould I have had made of a ring I carved out of jewellers wax. 
I love how the textured indented leaves catch the light in a subtle way while the diamond leaves catch the light in a bright sparkling way. 
I drill and then burr out the holes for the gems and move the metal onto the diamonds, after they are locked in tight, I use a hand held graver to engrave the bright sparkling details, this is where the magic happens. The piece goes from a slightly rough, bland metal and stone thing, to a refined, sophisticated exquisite piece of heirloom jewellery.

I love engraving with a graver, the process, the simplicity, the skill and the result. You just can’t get that bright sparkle and hand crafted feel with laser cut or cast or roll printing techniques.

There are five 1.5mm natural diamonds hand set and hand engraved across 2/3 of the band.
